The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) - Amman Office

P1050721

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty is a German political foundation established in 1958 by Theodor Heuss, the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Working world-wide for the principles of individual liberty, the rule of law, market economy and human rights, the Foundation follows the ideals of Friedrich Naumann. Naumann, at the beginning of the last century, was a leading German liberal thinker and politician. He resolutely backed the idea of civic education as a prerequisite for public participation and thus for democracy.

The Foundation is a driving force of organised liberalism. Our activities in the field of civic education involve seminars, conferences and publications aimed at promoting liberal values and principles.

Our Foundation is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, financially supported mainly by the German government as well as other institutions involved in international development cooperation. The Foundation has a network of institutes in Germany and numerous offices in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, America and Asia. It enjoys close links with Germany’s Free Democratic Party (FDP) and Liberal International (LI).
